Ruth Johnson is a thoughtful entrepreneur and a passionate advocate for giving back. She is the founder of Homes for Heroes, a company that helps heroes – including first responders, teachers, military and veterans – buy or sell a home and earn money in the process. Thanks to Johnson, tens of thousands of heroes have collectively earned millions on their transactions, and as the company continues to expand its nationwide reach, she’s on track to help thousands more.

In 2023, Homes for Heroes officially surpassed $120 million donated back to heroes and their families when they buy or sell a home through the company. The company has helped more than 61,000 heroes earn more than $115 million on their real estate transactions, and has partnered with more than 4,500 real estate and mortgage professionals, expanding its reach to more than 5,000 communities nationwide.

“Every day for the past 22 years, the absolute most rewarding part of my career has been giving back to those who serve our communities,” says Johnson. “Our mission is to thank every hero in the nation, and there is no better job in the world to have.”
