“I always put my clients’ needs before my own,” says Scott Furman, broker/owner of RE/MAX Classic in St. Davids, Pa., and full-time REALTOR®.

According to Furman, his greatest accomplishment of 2019 was helping a young couple whose husband was newly wheelchair bound get into a home fit for their needs. They were living separately, with the husband staying with his parents out of state while his wife continued to work locally and search for a house for them. Furman listed an ADA-compliant house, and the wife contacted him about the property. It was out of the couple’s price range.

Furman put them in touch with an agent in his office, and between the buyer, the agent, the seller and Furman, they worked out an offer that everyone was happy with. The seller and the buyer actually became quite close themselves because the seller’s husband was also wheelchair bound before he passed away. Furman says the entire transaction just felt right for both parties, like a match made in Heaven.

“This is why my motto, ‘Deep personal relationships still matter,’ goes a long way in this business,” he explains. “It’s an emotional time for clients on both ends, no matter what their story entails.”

Furman has been in the real estate industry since 1979. He’s also actively involved in fundraising for the ALS Hope Foundation in honor of his dad, American Cancer Society in honor of his mom and Children’s Miracle Network to help local kids through the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia.
