William Raveis’ legendary real estate career took off in 1974 when he launched William Raveis Real Estate in a single office above a grocery store with a $2,000 loan. Today, the brokerage has become a well-known name across the East Coast.

In 2024, Raveis and other brokerage leadership celebrated the firm’s 50th anniversary, being applauded by public figures such as Connecticut Governor Ned Lamont, RISMedia Founder and CEO John Featherston and Leading Real Estate Companies of the World® President and CEO Paul Boomsma.

Raveis was honored for his effort in founding the brokerage at 27 years old above a small grocery store in Fairfield, Connecticut, growing it to a multi-billion-dollar company with more than 4,500 agents and 140 offices in nine states.

“We’ve come a long way, and we are proud to be thriving while others are pulling back,” said Raveis, who takes pride in the brokerage’s continued success. “We know that working hard and giving back to our communities is just the right thing to do.”
