Agent Partnerships Strengthen RealtyBid.com and Real Estate Industry

RISMEDIA, July 25, 2007–Real estate agents are involved in an ongoing love-hate relationship with the Internet, and it’s easy to see why.  Certainly, the Internet has provided an unmatched mechanism for agents to disseminate information to customers, yet it’s clear that some Internet real estate start-ups are attempting to push real estate agents out of the game altogether. However, RealtyBid.com is one real estate Web site that has built its success by working as a partner to real estate agents.

Tony Isbell, president/CEO of RealtyBid.com, said the growth and success of RealtyBid.com has proven that working with agents instead of cutting them out of the sales process is still a viable business model.  “RealtyBid.com is a tool for real estate agents, builders and financial institutions that provides online bidding as a way to sell properties faster.  Even with several days left in the month, the company has already set a record in July in terms of the number of properties auctioned in one month—nearly 1,300.” He added that the number of properties offered for auction during the first half of 2007 (January through June) on RealtyBid.com increased by more than 151 percent when compared to the first half of 2006. And, even more telling is the fact that the number of properties sold via RealtyBid.com during the first half of 2007 increased by 158 percent when compared to the first half of 2006.

“This could not have been accomplished without the help of listing agents throughout the country; every property offered for auction on RealtyBid.com must be affiliated with a listing agent. It is not our goal to disrupt the real estate community, but to strengthen it by offering real estate agents and sellers an alternate form of marketing—a weapon in combating the declining market.”

He continued, “While many entities are looking for and writing about the next ‘big deal’ in real estate and promoting new business models that abandon the traditional real estate model, we think a great deal of credit should be given to the very business models and agents that have built this business to where it is today.  Even though there is room for improvement in any industry, there is also much respect that should be given to the most reliable real estate process in the world. We appreciate working with those agents who are innovators in their own right and who are looking for creative solutions to traditional real estate problems.  We have elected to work exclusively with those agents, and that proposition is now paying off.”
