Coldwell Banker United, Realtors and Century 21 Cornerstone in Cabarrus County Join Companies

RISMEDIA, May 23, 2008-Jeffrey Wheeler, president and COO of Coldwell Banker United, Realtors and Jerry and Darlene Newton, owners of Century 21 Cornerstone, have announced that Cornerstone will become a part of Coldwell Banker United, Realtors.

Coldwell Banker United, Realtors opened its Cabarrus County office in Kannapolis last year. The office now has 12 Sales Associates averaging over four listings per agent.

Century 21 Cornerstone was started in 2004 when the Newtons acquired Century 21 First Alliance Realty and later Century 21 Ralph Hartsell Realty. Century 21 Cornerstone has 22 agents affiliated with its Concord, N.C. office.

Tom Martin, senior vice president for Coldwell Banker United, Realtors, said when the two companies began discussions a few months ago, Newton wanted to partner with a company that could take Cornerstone’s brokers to the next level. Martin said Coldwell Banker wanted to continue its positive growth trend in that market.

“We knew this was a good fit for us,” Martin said. “The Concord/Kannapolis market is growing. We’re combining two powerful brands and that really expedites our plans for growth in Cabarrus County.”

Newton said that Coldwell Banker United, Realtors became the right partner choice because of the company’s advancements in technology and its progressive strategies – including a brand new Web site and Internet marketing.

“I knew this was the right move,” said Newton. “One that will provide our brokers with the tools and services that only a company like Coldwell Banker United, Realtors can and will provide to help our agents better serve customers.”

The Century 21 Cornerstone office will be folded into the current Coldwell Banker United, Realtors office located in Kannapolis located on Wonder Drive. That office space can house up to 42 agents.

In addition to the Concord/Kannapolis area, Coldwell Banker United, Realtors serves the Greater Charlotte area, including neighboring South Carolina Rock Hill and Fort Mill, and Statesville, Lake Norman, and Union County.
