RISMEDIA, January 27, 2011—Prior to joining Prudential Florida Realty, Rei Mesa owned his own real estate brokerage that he ultimately sold to NRT, which operates Coldwell Banker offices in Florida. He then served as Miami-Dade District Manager with Coldwell Banker Residential Real Estate.

Rei is a Certified Real Estate Broker (CRB) and a Certified Residential Specialist (CRS). He currently serves as a National Association of Realtors® (NAR) Director, Large Firm Brokers and Political and Public Policy, and is in the NAR Leadership Academy. At Florida REALTORS® (FR), he serves on the Executive Committee, Real Estate Services Group—Top 50 Brokers, and is the District 4 Trustee for the REALTOR® Political Action Committee. Rei also served as a Director of the National Association of Hispanic Real Estate Professionals (NAHREP). He previously served as a member of the Prudential Real Estate Affiliates National Advisory Board and is a member of the Apex Group, representing the top 15 companies in the Prudential Network.

Rei is the Past President, Treasurer and current Director of the REALTOR® Association of MIAMI which is one of the largest local boards in the country with over 27,000 members. He was recognized as the 2010 Leadership Broker of the Year, 2008 REALTOR® of the Year in recognition of his exemplary leadership and service to the real estate industry, contributions at the local, state and national level, commitment to community and charity organizations, and his constant positive focus and leadership benefiting the real estate industry at-large.

Rei was also recognized as Prudential Real Estate and Relocation Services, Inc. (PRERS) 2008 Broker of the Year at the national Prudential Real Estate Sales Convention in March 2009 for his exemplary leadership and service to the real estate industry, and his commitment to community and charity organizations. This is the highest recognition for a broker offered by PRERS. There are currently more than 1,700 franchise offices in the Prudential Real Estate Network and over 60,000 Sales Professionals nationwide.

Rei was appointed by Florida REALTORS® President to serve an unprecedented 2nd term as the Chairman of the Florida REALTORS Real Estate Services Group. Rei gladly accepted this responsibility with the personal goal of advancing issues at FAR that are extremely important to the real estate industry and Florida residents. The FAR Leadership Team and Directors established the Florida Real Estate Services Group which is comprised of the Top 50 Real Estate “Large Firm” Companies in Florida. The Group’s focus is to lead the Florida Real Estate industry into a full recovery and to assist its residents in achieving the American Dream of Homeownership.

Most recently, Mesa has been accepted into the National Association of REALTORS® Leadership Academy by the Executive Office at NAR. Mesa is among a very select group of applicants who, upon completion in the Academy, will become active in guiding the future of the REALTOR® associations throughout the Nation by participating in the National Association of REALTORS® Leadership Academy.

Under Mesa’s leadership, Prudential Florida Real Estate Services has raised more than $1.97 million dollars for the Sunshine Kids and has been the Prudential Network’s #1 fundraiser in Florida since 2001. The Sunshine Kids Foundation is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to providing positive group activities and emotional support for young cancer patients.

Mesa continues to share his knowledge and insight speaking at different events such as RISMedia’s Power Broker Forum’s, the National Association of REALTORS® Annual Business Conferences, the Florida REALTORS® Annual and Bi-Annual Meetings, Prudential Real Estate and Relocation Services, Inc. national business calls and conferences, and many local board events.

“It is with great honor that I proudly represent Prudential Florida Realty, Florida Real Estate Services and the great state of Florida,” commented Mesa. “I look forward to the next 30 years and all of the opportunities it may bring. I am privileged to have the industry’s most knowledgeable, passionate, and committed team of professionals within our company that anyone could ever wish for. I humbly share this milestone and all of the accomplishments with each and every one of our “Family of Services” team members.”
