Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate Launches Reality Broadcast Series: ‘Home, First Home’

Better Homes and Gardens® Real Estate recently unveiled its new online and television reality series, “Home, First Home”(SM). The series, which features real stories from first-time homebuyers across the country, as well as advice from Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate affiliated sales associates, can be found online at youtube.com/bhgrealestate and will air on the nationally syndicated lifestyle television show The Better Show in more than 150 U.S. markets from March through June 2012.

“Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate is proud and committed to helping people fulfill the American Dream of owning a home,” says Sherry Chris, president and CEO of Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate LLC. “As an entertaining and informative series, ‘Home, First Home’ offers viewers the opportunity to share in the joy of purchasing a home, while learning about the many steps involved in achieving this milestone.”

Audiences of “Home, First Home” are invited to follow the journey of first-time homebuyers as they go through the excitement of finding the right home and community to meet their lifestyle needs. At the heart of the series is a story involving a widowed mother of two young daughters, Tiffani Rios. Tiffani and her late husband, Army Pfc. Gustavo Rios, had shared a dream of owning a house for their children to grow up in and call, “home.” When Gustavo was tragically killed in the war in Afghanistan, Tiffani was left to take care of her family and carry on this dream. The episodes chronicle Tiffani’s experience, along with the hard work of her real estate agent, Andrew Gaydosh, to turn this dream into a reality.

“This experience was truly fulfilling for me,” says Gaydosh, an Ohio-based real estate agent at Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate Big Hill. “Our goal is to ensure that every client finds a home that meets their individual needs, and we recognize our role in supporting and informing our clients during this very important and personal buying decision. Being able to guide Tiffani through the process of buying a home that was perfect for her and her girls was gratifying both professionally and personally.”

The “Home, First Home” series, produced in conjunction with Meredith Video Studios, also includes supplemental tips from Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate agents about the home-buying and -selling process, which can be viewed at youtube.com/bhgrealestate as well. Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate professionals, including Chris and Gaydosh, will also appear as guests on The Better Show to provide viewers additional real estate tips, trends and insights.

“Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate brokers and agents are well-versed in the unique needs of all homebuyers and sellers, and they understand that there is so much more to this process than a straightforward real estate transaction,” says Chris. “Like our agents throughout our growing network, we hope that ‘Home, First Home’ will inspire and provide consumers valuable insight into every step of the home buying process.”
