Closing with Gift Cards; Home Improvement Made Easy with Lowe’s Program for REALTORS®

Home Best Practices

Although the market is on its way toward recovery, buyers, sellers and homeowners everywhere are still looking to cut costs wherever possible. After a transaction is completed, buyers often find that there are still areas of the home they wish to expand, change or renovate. While money may be tight shortly after a major purchase, real estate professionals using Lowe’s Program for REALTORS® can offer some aid and further help their clients even after dotted lines are signed.

As part of a partnership between Lowe’s and the National Association of REALTORS® through its REALTOR Benefits® Program, REALTORS® have the option of purchasing gift cards for their clients as closing gifts. For the homeowner, the generous gift provides them with financial help and the opportunity to update or renovate their home shortly after the purchase. For the REALTOR®, thanks to the Lowe’s Program for REALTORS®, a 5 percent discount is given on all gift card purchases made for clients online at lowesrealtorbenefits.com. In addition, giving gift cards to clients keeps the real estate professional’s name in the minds of buyers and sellers in the most positive light possible.

“I love the Lowe’s Program for REALTORS®, and I love Lowe’s, so it is a perfect match. This has become part of my closing gift to my clients, and it’s a great way to help a lot of them get their homes fixed up the way they want it for less,” says Janine Love, Exceptional Realty, LLC, Woodlands, Texas.

This added bonus has proven to go a long way, as many REALTORS® have found that the nice gesture leads to more referrals, and eventually, more sales.

“I believe the most valuable tool as a real estate professional is enabling yourself to stand out above the others,” says Doreen Levy, Home Run Real Estate, Inc., Lake Worth, Fla. “With the Lowe’s Program for REALTORS®, you are able to send coupons and gift cards to your clients on your behalf. It really makes an unforgettable impression on my clients. I have been thanked numerous times, as well as referred to their family and friends, because I provided them with more than just a contract.”

REALTORS® participating in the program can purchase Lowe’s gift cards quickly and efficiently online through the Lowe’s Program for REALTORS® site and receive the discount on all cards purchased. Each gift card is then sent to its recipients with a personalized letter congratulating them on their new or newly sold home.

The Lowe’s Program for REALTORS® also offers many other effective features, such as enewsletters and 10 percent-off coupons for use in Lowe’s stores. Newsletters and coupons are sent to clients on behalf of the REALTOR® and are yet another way a real estate professional can serve his or her clients at large.

“Instead of a gift card at full price to somewhere else, I can give a quality retailer card at a small discount to me. Plus, the clients I send this to get more for their money when they combine it with their 10 percent discount coupons,” says Bobbi-Jo Girroir, First Choice Real Estate, Westfield, Mass.

For many REALTORS® around the country, the Lowe’s Program for REALTORS® is a tried and true, comprehensive suite of tools that helps them perform their jobs as efficiently as possible. For buyers and sellers, this means quality service they can count on from their most trusted real estate professional.

“Thank you, Lowe’s Program for REALTORS®, for offering this fantastic benefit program that my clients love,” says Jeri Blanco, Coldwell Banker Cocoa Beach Realty, Cocoa Beach, Fla. “I always make a point to tell them that they will be receiving the 10 percent-off coupon, and have also taken advantage of ordering gift cards for my clients and receiving the 5 percent discount on that purchase as well. It’s savings all around!”

The Lowe’s Program for REALTORS® is free for NAR members and offers exclusive, personal marketing tools from Lowe’s through its partnership in NAR’s REALTOR Benefits® Program.
