Achieving Success: Act Now!

These words from the great Og Mandino have inspired millions to take action. Procrastination holds us back, and fear is our worst enemy as we move our lives and businesses to the next level.

So what is it that holds us back? What keeps us from setting higher goals, prospecting or going after luxury and high-end real estate? These fears can only be conquered by action.

How often in your life have you had the moment where you were inspired to take action to do something outside of your comfort zone, something as simple as calling an old friend, stopping by and seeing a family member or loved one, or even helping a stranger? By acting on that feeling, you realized it was the right thing to do even though you may not have known why or what that moving force was that caused you to take action. Act now! Act now! Act now! These simple words can make the difference between average and exceptional results as you change your life to become a life of action.

Each day, as you wake up and begin your day, make it a day of action. Plan your day, set priorities and act now. Don’t be distracted by shiny objects, distractions or more simple tasks. Stay focused on your priorities and get them done. Act now!

Progress follows action. And the actions you take daily will determine your success. I have the opportunity to coach top-producing agents and teams, and one thing that sets them apart is their ability to take action. When they need to prospect, they act. When they need to knock on doors, they act. When they need to hire an assistant or buyer’s agent, they act and they act now. It seems so simple, but the reality is that most salespeople procrastinate, putting off the actions of today that will drive success, leaving their more difficult tasks for yet another day. Act now and do the most difficult task of your day and each day you will find the success that awaits you.

This simple phrase allows you to not only have a vision, it requires that you execute that vision and move your life and business forward. As you act on your promptings, on your gut, that instinct gets stronger and your ability to recognize your internal compass will increase. Great thoughts and plans are worthless unless they are followed by action. Visualize where you see yourself one to five years and ten years from now, create a plan to get there, and act now to execute that plan. Each day is a gift that allows you to take action and impact the lives of others. I challenge you to move into action and leave excuses behind. For this life is amazing and wonderful things await those who take action.
