Ask the Expert: What Out-of-the-Box Fall Marketing Strategies Will Help Me Stand Out from the Competition?

Creative business woman thinking and brainstorming with a wall chart at the background

Today’s Ask the Expert column features Jackie Amato, customer service manager with RealEstateCalendars.com.

Q: Are there any out-of-the-box marketing strategies you’d recommend that will help me stand out from the competition this fall?

A: One of the biggest obstacles real estate professionals face is showing how they’re different from the competition. Now that fall has arrived—and the holiday season is right around the corner—marketing yourself is more important than ever. While most agents hit the Christmas season hard with mailers, informational brochures, gifts, etc., the weeks leading up to the holiday season are as good a time as any to separate yourself from the competition.

Implementing a 12-month marketing plan is a great way to make sure you cover all the bases. With the arrival of Breast Cancer Awareness Month—and the impending Halloween holiday—here are a few simple tips to help you stand out from the competition this fall.

Breast cancer awareness is an effort to raise awareness and reduce the stigma of breast cancer through education regarding symptoms and treatment. While most people are aware of breast cancer, many forget to take the steps to have a plan to detect the disease in its early stages, and encourage others to do the same.

RealEstateCalendars.com has several promotional products your clients will love. Not only do we offer breast cancer awareness forget-me-not seed packs, we also have pink ribbon magnets, awareness bags, pink custom-printed jar openers, calendar self-mailers and monthly breast self-exam guide magnets.

Our breast cancer awareness line of products will go a long way toward showing your support for this cause, while at the same time branding yourself and showing your clients you care. October also brings with it the Halloween holiday, which real estate professionals can incorporate into their marketing collateral.

Here are a few marketing ideas to add to your list:

Mailers – Many agents send out mailers as part of their 12-month marketing plan. In addition to the physical mailers you send, send a virtual Halloween card to all of your contacts. Promoting your services electronically will garner more attention, plus save you money on printing and mailing costs. To be sure your contacts receive your marketing materials (sending via email may increase the likelihood of your message landing in a junk or spam folder), RealEstateCalendars.com will do the work for you and mail Halloween postcards to your list of contacts.

Open Houses – Embrace the positive traditions of the holiday by setting out candy or pumpkin-shaped cookies in each room for visitors to enjoy. You can also include pumpkin or caramel apple candles to fill the space with delightful scents. Include promotional items with your contact information, as well. Take this one step further and deliver the holiday spirit with our custom-printed Halloween bags and custom-printed magnets that you can use to list parades, haunted houses and other festivities in the area. A quick call to your local Chamber of Commerce will go a long way toward keeping you on the minds of current and past clients, as well as those in your farming area.
