Future Real Estate Leaders Graduate From Realogy’s Brokerage Leadership Succession Program

Home Industry News

A class of 39 future real estate brokerage leaders have graduated from Ascend: The Executive Leadership ExperienceSM, a leadership-specific program powered by Realogy for current and future broker/owners who seek a smooth and profitable business succession process, Realogy recently announced.

“Congratulations to our Ascend graduates, who now make up a group of more than 115 alumni who have grown personally and professionally as a result of this exceptional leadership program,” says Mike Good, executive champion of the Ascend program for Realogy.

Ascend is an intensive 46-week program offered exclusively to Realogy brand-affiliated real estate brokerage owners to prepare the next generation of leadership to guide their businesses and provide a foundation for the continued success of their agents.

This year’s Ascend graduates, affiliated with Better Homes and Gardens® Real Estate, CENTURY 21®, Coldwell Banker®, ERA®, Sotheby’s International Realty® and Coldwell Banker Commercial® represent diverse market areas and company sizes from the U.S. and Canada. This third cohort of graduates joins the first two graduating classes in the Ascend Alumni Network, which offers structured events and continued opportunities to network.

“There is a greater importance to look at my company in a deeper way, to identify those areas that need improvement and then putting my arms around those issues and solving them,” says graduate Victoria Aguilar, of Nelson Shelton Real Estate ERA Powered in Beverly Hills, Calif. “I am now more effective because I am able to prioritize those issues most important, or focus on those activities that are instrumental in running a successful business.”

“Ascend has taken me from a manager of situations to a manager of a business,” says graduate Arthur Maxwell, of Coldwell Banker Vanguard, REALTORS® in Springfield, Mo. “The focus has shifted from keeping my head above water to getting my feet on solid ground. I have learned how to better use the talented people around me to be more productive, which allows me to concentrate on the activities that build the business.”

“It is an honor to be able to attend such an incredible program,” says graduate Morgan Smith, of Russell Post Sotheby’s International Realty in Key Largo, Fla. “I heard someone describe it as a mini-MBA, but I think it is even better than that because the coursework correlates to real estate companies, not just business in general. Almost everything I learned I can use to build my business.”

Ascend features intense learning experiences that prepare participants to become successful future brokerage leaders by challenging them to significant growth in three core areas identified in the program’s mission statement: Leading Self. Leading Others. Leading Organizations.® The challenging Ascend curriculum combines on-site classroom sessions at Realogy’s headquarters location with online learning modules and culminates with individual case study presentations. The program engages Realogy senior leadership, real estate industry experts and current successful franchisees from all Realogy brands.

“Ascend offers a unique learning experience where participants hear from leading industry experts and successful business leaders, while at the same time networking with peers,” says John Peyton, CEO of the Realogy Franchise Group. “This program provides leadership successors with the business skills necessary to develop the confidence required to successfully lead organizations in the future.”
