Women in Real Estate: Realizing Needs, Recognizing Success and Rewarding Innovation

Judy Weber, Esq., real estate SUCCESS Coach and co-founder, vice president and general counsel of Livy Brynn LLC, has zoned in on women in real estate. Through various initiatives and a new annual event, Weber, along with her twin sister and business partner, Jan Copeland, are looking to help women be more confident and grow their business into an “outrageous success.”

Jan Copeland and Judy Weber

“Jan and I have always had a heart for women, and our passion is to empower them and enable them to take their businesses and their lives as far as they want to go,” says Weber.

Here, Weber shares her story with RISMedia, emphasizing the need for real estate programs that are “designed by women, for women.”

LD: Judy, why is there a need for women-focused education and networking within the industry?
JW: Women make up the majority of agents, and there’s virtually no one speaking to their unique needs…or innate gifts, abilities and/or inherent skill sets. It’s our firm belief that women already possess the nine all-important success traits to dominate their markets, and it’s our mission to get this message out to empower women to tap into their greatness!

LD: You’ve created your own national event tailored to women. Why did you and Jan feel it was a missing resource in the real estate industry?
JW: is an annual national conference for women in real estate, created to fill a void in the marketplace. Our inaugural conference is April 9-10. It’s an opportunity for women to come together to learn, grow, network and have fun together. Any time women join each other with a collective intention, it’s a powerful thing! That’s also why we launched LivyGirl.com, our real estate coaching and training company.

The She’s UNSTOPPABLE Live conference is so much more than an event; it’s a like-nothing-else experience, just for “us girls.” We’ve secured an amazing group of industry influencers and leaders, as well as amazing top agents and brokers sharing their very best business-building secrets. Indeed, the conference is decidedly woman-focused (and unapologetically girly). That means each day of the conference will have little surprises and feminine touches of glam, bling and sparkle!

LD: What can attendees expect at this event?
JW: One of the highlights of the conference will be the cocktail reception, where we’ll be awarding several LivyGirl Awards to deserving ladies. VIP ticketholders will participate in an exclusive meet-and-greet and photo op with our distinguished speakers and VIP guests, as well as participate in a unique VIP Power Breakfast Mastermind with select members of our Powerhouse Panel of Top Producers.

For this we’re blessed to have big names as preferred partners and sponsors, such as realtor.com® and All Things Real Estate, as well as industry influencers such as Dottie Herman, CEO of Douglas Elliman, and Tracey Tutor, accomplished agent and star of Bravo’s Million Dollar Listing LA, and well-known organizations such as womanUP! and The Beverly Carter Foundation.

LD: What are some of the other initiatives you’ve led or are currently working on?
JW: Jan and I are working on two books. The first is called “Girls Guide to OUTRAGEOUS Real Estate Success: Running a Profitable, Fun Biz YOUR Way.” The second book is not yet named, but is a compilation of interviews we have had with dozens of industry influencers and nationally-ranked agents and brokers, addressing a woman’s perspective on entrepreneurship (meant to serve as inspiration as well as a source of excellent business strategy).

We also continue to offer a free learning platform to all women in real estate through our popular Facebook group, Girls’ Guide to OUTRAGEOUS Real Estate Success.

And to bring even more attention to our “women empowering women” movement, we will continue our hashtag campaign, #weARErealestate. Women do things differently—we talk differently, we think differently, we have different work/life issues—and it’s this unique perspective that will be highlighted throughout various social media posts throughout the year, noted with this hashtag.

LD: What are your goals for your business and for your women-dedicated conference?
JW: As we approach the first anniversary of our business (coming up in February), we seek to dedicate 2019 to bringing the “women empowering women” concept to the forefront. We want to work with organizations like womanUP!, Women’s Council of REALTORS® and the National Association of REALTORS® to elevate women in this industry we love!

Each year, we’re committed to bringing the very best our industry has to offer in the way of proven business-building strategies, including the latest expert social media advice and innovative technologies, so that She’s UNSTOPPABLE Live becomes the go-to event for all women in real estate.

It’s our goal that every woman in attendance leave different than when she arrived—more motivated, better educated and absolutely more confident to grow her business into an outrageous success.

RISMedia’s Women in Real Estate highlights the strategies, stories and successes of women-focused initiatives within the real estate industry.
