Trulia has announced the launch of Trulia Neighborhoods, a feature with local perspectives pertaining to safety, schools and more, on its website. With firsthand knowledge, original photography and video, consumers can learn about neighborhoods from residents. The addition is available in Austin, Chicago and parts of California, with more neighborhoods slated for this year.
“Prior to Trulia Neighborhoods, there wasn’t a resource that showed consumers what life is really like in a neighborhood,” says Tim Correia, senior vice president and general manager at Trulia. “Our research found consumers were determined to find this type of information, and even developed a series of hacks to source these valuable insights. It was clear it was time to rebuild the home and neighborhood discovery experience from the ground up and empower consumers with all the information to make the best decision for themselves.”
In its research, Trulia found there is a desire for details about a neighborhood, beyond what is contained on listings.
The announcement follows the launches of What Locals Say, or insights from locals, and Local Legal Protections, which displays LGBT legal protections.
