Every homeowner wants a luxurious master suite where they can escape for privacy and personal time. Taking that a step further, however, is the growing trend of residences with dual master bedrooms. By that, I don’t mean simply having his and her closets and bathrooms, but two full-blown suites.
It may sound a bit over-the-top at first, yet that could be because you have never considered the option. Here are three great reasons why luxury buyers seek out properties with dual master suites.
Separate Sleeping
According to the National Sleep Foundation, one in four couples sleep in separate beds. In the past, it might have been regarded as a sign of a troubled relationship, but couples today see it as a matter of practicality. Whether they have different schedules, sleep patterns, or health issues, there are plenty of reasons why couples get a better night’s rest in their own beds. Furthermore, they can each personalize their bedrooms and bathrooms to best meet their needs.
Flexibility
Even if you’re not using the second master suite, having it available is a luxury unto itself. It’s a cut above the typical guest room in terms of comfort and privacy that will come in handy if you ever end up having an extended houseguest. Some couples look to the future and design a master suite on the main level that they’ll someday move into when stairs become difficult. You don’t need it until you need it.
Family
Not ready to send mom and dad to a nursing home? A lot more people are bringing their elderly parents under their roof where they can be closer to the family and spend time with the grandchildren. As nice as it is having them around, you’ll certainly be thankful for the privacy that a second master suite affords.
