Mike Opyd, broker/owner of RE/MAX NEXT, along with co-owner, Alejandro Trujillo, announced their acquisition of RE/MAX Edge in Chicago. Effective immediately, the office will now operate as RE/MAX NEXT.
RE/MAX Edge is located in Chicago and was formerly owned and managed by Mark Zipperer, who remains on staff as a sales associate. Opyd cites his working relationship with Zipperer, as well as the office’s strong roster of agents and prime city location, as key reasons for the acquisition.
“I am beyond excited about RE/MAX NEXT’s collaboration with Mark Zipperer and RE/MAX Edge. Both companies are built on similar philosophies, making it a natural fit to combine companies,” said Opyd. “Now, with two offices, RE/MAX NEXT will be able to service clients all over the city, from the west side up to the north side.”
“Over the past few years, my client business has grown to the point that it was becoming difficult to me to strike that magical balance of managing all of the things I was doing,” said Zipperer, former broker/owner of RE/MAX Edge. “Since serving buyers and sellers has always been my passion, I decided to seek a buyer for my brokerage who will build on the base I built over the past 15 years.”
RE/MAX NEXT opened in 2017. The office is located in the Fulton Market District and has 13 agents. The acquisition of RE/MAX Edge brings the total agent count to nearly 30.
