The Collective, Realty

Anthony Vulin, broker/owner and CEO of The Collective, Realty in Los Angeles, is determined to narrow the gap in homeownership rates within the LGBT community.

“Homeownership is the American dream, but the homeownership rate for the LGBT community is 16 percent below the national average, and I’m not OK with this,” Vulin says. “People don’t realize that there are down payment assistance programs or very low down payment options.”

According to Vulin, discrimination against members of the LGBT community in the home-buying process is legal in half the country. Vulin advocates with federal legislators to change that.

Vulin is president of Pride Real Estate Professionals Association, a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting LGBT real estate professionals in their career development, fostering goodwill between LGBT professionals and the greater real estate community, and advocating for equal opportunity when it comes to homeownership and property rights. He is also president of the Los Angeles chapter of the National Association of Gay and Lesbian Real Estate Professionals.

In Los Angeles, Vulin hosts seminars for first-time buyers and works closely with the city council, which led USA TODAY to dub him “an affordable housing hero.” He is a member of the board of the Beverly Hills/Greater Los Angeles Association of REALTORS®, the California Association of REALTORS® and the Diversity Committee at the National Association of REALTORS®. Vulin has been named REALTOR® of the Year, and the Los Angeles Blade has named The Collective, Realty the Best Realty Firm in LA for two years in a row.
