RISMEDIA, Dec. 17, 2007-NRT LLC announced the promotion of Dan Christensen to president of Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage in Utah. In his new capacity, Christensen will oversee the daily operations of the company’s 17 sales offices and 1,200 sales associates, its Previews marketing division for luxury real estate, relocation services as well as the company’s commercial division. Christensen assumes the responsibilities previously held by Max Thompson, who will now serve as chairman and CEO. In his new role, Thompson will continue to focus on strategic business development and will help manage the company operations.

Christensen most recently served as the company’s chief financial officer. With more than 20 years in the real estate industry, Christensen’s tenure with the Utah company dates to 1996, when he joined Coldwell Banker Premier Realty as chief financial officer. After NRT acquired the company in 2001, he continued in that capacity, gradually assuming additional supervisory and operational responsibilities including training, facilities, recruiting and office review.

“Dan’s sound financial management and forward thinking approach to business development combined with his strong connections to the community and in-depth knowledge of the market will serve to ensure the continued success of Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage’s operations in Utah,” said Greg Macres, regional senior vice president for NRT’s Western Region. “One of NRT’s enduring strengths is our ability to tap internal talent, and we are fortunate to have someone of Dan’s caliber to continue to drive expansion and growth in this important market.”

A 1982 graduate of Brigham Young University and a CPA, Christensen began his career as a public accountant before joining a full service commercial development, property management, brokerage and interior design firm in Salt Lake City in 1998.

Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage in Utah accounted for nearly $3.5 billion in closed sales volume last year.
