RISMEDIA, May 16, 2008-GE Security Inc., a business of GE Enterprise Solutions announced a new version of its wireless eKEY that will enable full lockbox functionality for BlackBerry® smartphones from Research In Motion (RIM).

The BlackBerry smartphone-compatible eKEY, when available later this year, will allow agents to open lock boxes, receive real-time showing notifications and view showing reports through a new mobile version of eDATA software, called eDATA Mobile. Real estate professionals will be able to search multiple listing service (MLS) data directly from the Internet and view a complete range of searchable criteria.

The eKEY and eDATA Mobile solution will allow real estate agents to access, manage and search listed properties using BlackBerry smartphones, helping them save time and increase productivity in today’s ultra competitive market. The new eDATA Mobile application will be optimized for use on the BlackBerry Browser, providing access to updated MLS listings, agent roster information, real-time showing reports, customizable searching, mapping and other Web-based competitive intelligence.

“These new mobile products offer added flexibility and convenience for the many real estate professionals who currently use, or want to use, BlackBerry smartphones for their business communication,” said Jeff Antrican, vice president, GE Security real estate sales. “With eKEY and eDATA Mobile, an agent’s BlackBerry is turned into an advanced, all-in-one real estate solution that can provide a competitive advantage when pursuing sales opportunities in today’s marketplace.”

“We’re pleased to work with GE Security to help bring eKEY and eDATA Mobile software to BlackBerry smartphones. The BlackBerry solution is already very popular in the real estate sector and we are seeing a great deal of interest in these types of features and services which enable greater productivity and a competitive advantage for real estate professionals,” said Jeff McDowell, vice president, global alliances at Research In Motion.

eKEY and eDATA Mobile for BlackBerry smartphones are expected to be available by the end of 2008.

GE Security and RIM representatives will be available to discuss the features and benefits of these new products at GE Security’s booth 204 during the National Association of Realtors Mid-Year Conference May 14-16.
