Be Seen: Tips for Publicizing Your Sales

RISMEDIA, August 19, 2010—Have you ever been shocked to see a property in your area get listed by a less qualified agent? This can be frustrating and demoralizing. You know your marketplace better than any other Realtor and your success proves it. When this occurs, you have an ignorant homeowner to blame, right? Wrong! The only person to blame is you. Being the best Realtor is of no value unless potential clients are aware of this. It’s your job to enlighten them.

Think about the last property you sold. Who knows that you sold it? The buyer knows, the seller knows and other Realtors know. The trouble is, none of these folks will need your services anytime soon. It is imperative that you broadcast each accomplishment to past and future clients. Selling one property is great but it will remain just one sale unless you leverage it into more opportunities. Stop looking at each sale as a success. Instead, think of each sale as an opportunity to get more business. When you list or sell a property, let everyone know about it. By doing this you will turn your individual achievements into multiple sales.

Stay visible by making phone calls, sending emails and mailing postcards. Even the best Realtors need to stay front and center or risk being shocked by listings that go to less qualified agents.

One way to stay visible is through direct mail.
