Verizon’s Agent Rewards Program Provides Powerful Tool for Realtors to Demonstrate Value

RISMEDIA, August 25, 2010—Real estate agents who sell in markets that have Verizon’s FiOS (fiber optic service) for TV, Internet and phone have an extra advantage in this tough real estate market. With the common theme of ‘getting back to basics,’ it’s important to demonstrate value to your clients. The Verizon Agent Rewards Program (ARP) provides the advantage, plus rewards for both the agent and the buyer.

Here’s how it works: An agent tells the ‘Fiber Adds Value’ story as an important feature of a home, providing the buyer with collateral that offers a $50 Amex gift card if they sign up for a Double or Triple Play. When the sale is confirmed, the agent gets a $100 Amex gift card.

How does this give the Realtor an advantage? In a survey conducted by RVA Render & Associates, more than two-thirds of those surveyed said that broadband was an important feature in choosing a home. Furthermore, access to fiber to the home (FTTH) for fast Internet rated #1 in importance among amenities. Realtors who incorporate the ‘Fiber Adds Value’ story when selling demonstrate value and differentiate themselves.

To-date, nearly 5,000 ARP member agents have earned over $1 million of rewards.

Brokers benefit too as they use ARP as a tool to attract and motivate their agents. The key is to make it a routine part of their day-to-day activities. There is no limit to the number of rewards agents can earn.

Unlike the long list of other marketing programs targeted at Realtors, ARP was developed by long time real estate industry experts David M. Amaro and Brian Skalski, partners at International Direct Response, Inc. “Verizon asked us to develop a program that would empower real estate brokers to offer value to their agents in a challenging real estate environment,” says David. Brian adds, “We understood from the very beginning that the program had to be designed with a keen understanding of Realtors. We knew it had to demonstrate value, be extremely easy and provide a motivating reward.”
