Crowdsourcing Part II: Getting Play from Other Social Media Sites

social_media_terms_signsLast time out, we examined how Pinterest was becoming a great way for brokers to get the most out of crowdsourcing, but other social media sites can be just as valuable.

Take Facebook for example. Crowdsourcing is a great way for a broker to seek out advice from others in the field and the social media site of over one billion users will connect you with a wide-range of brokers who can share ideas and past experiences.

The real estate biz is a friendly bunch, and this is a great way to find out what other brokers are thinking about marketing, home prices or even how to deal with an uncooperative client. Simply pose your question and watch as the comments come in.

Twitter may not be the first thing you think of with crowdsourcing but it can help a broker get the message out about a particular neighborhood, school or something else in the community. For example, if you post a tweet asking clients to reply with the best things to do in the area, complete with a hashtag that can be seen by prospect buyers–it can help sell a location better than photos can.

Create a tweet by first logging in to your Twitter account and enter a question that you want answered by the crowd into the “What’s Happening” input field at the top of the screen. Be sure to ask them to re-tweet so it’s forwarded to everyone in their network who may have ties to the area.
