In her new role, Kennedy will oversee First American Exchange Company's Northern California region, which has offices in San Jose, San Francisco, Walnut Creek, Sacramento and Fresno. Kennedy, who has more than 23 years of experience in real estate law, worked for two San Francisco-area law firms and as assistant general counsel for MetLife in Foster City, Calif., from 1990 to 1999, prior to joining First American Exchange Company in 2003 as vice president and counsel for the Northern California region.
Recognized for her industry expertise and experience, Kennedy has been a guest speaker for several prestigious organizations, including Practicing Law Institute, the Continuing Education of the Bar, Federation of Exchange Accommodators, The State Bar of California and the American Land Title Association. She has also been actively involved in several industry and community organizations, including serving as the former chair of The State Bar of California's Real Property Law Section; the former managing editor of the California Real Property Journal, the official publication of The State Bar of California's Real Property Law Section; and as a board member of Commercial Real Estate Women (CREW) in San Francisco, as well as a member of CREW Silicon Valley in San Jose.
Kennedy holds a bachelor's degree in anthropology from University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and a juris doctor from Hastings College of the Law in San Francisco. She currently resides in Redwood City, California, and works out of the San Jose office.
