Regional Spotlight: Connecticut Home Mortgage Ranks Among the Nation’s Best

August 23, 2007
Reading Time: 2 mins read

RISMEDIA, August 24, 2007-Annually, Broker’s Magazine conducts a nationwide survey of the top mortgage companies and top mortgage originators in their ‘Best of the Best’ issue. This is the second year that Shelton-based, Connecticut Home Mortgage made the nationwide list of the Top 50 Loan Brokerage Firms. In 2006, Connecticut Home Mortgage ranked #16, up from #24 in 2005.

Connecticut Home Mortgage is a full-service mortgage broker and banker firm with over 35 mortgage originators. In 2006, the firm wrote over $381 million in loan, a 13% increase from 2005.

Four of Connecticut Home Mortgage’s originators were also named to the 2006 Broker Magazine’s nationwide list. Lyn Farrell ranked #16 up from #42 in 2005 and Elaine Betzios ranked #36 up from # 47. In 2006, two new additional Connecticut Home Mortgage originators also ranked in the nation’s Top 50, Jeff Jensen at #18 and Lynne Oliveri at #40.

Tony Rinaldi, vice president and director of Connecticut Home Mortgage attributes his company’s success to having some of the most talented Financial Consultants in the industry.

“Every Financial Consultant at Connecticut Home Mortgage is required to pass qualifying exams to earn the Certified Mortgage Planning Specialist (CMPS) designation granted by the CMPS Institute, a training and certifying organization created to help mortgage professionals integrate financial planning concepts into the mortgage process,” Rinaldi stated. “By being CMPS designees, Connecticut Home Mortgage Originators offer clients strategies that encompass mortgages, debt, home equity and real estate investment. In addition all pledge to follow a Code of Ethics.”

The CMPS curriculum incorporates five essential skill sets including:

– Financial market and interest rate analysis
– Cash flow analysis
– Debt analysis
– Real estate equity management
– Real estate investment analysis

Providing expert mortgage advice is critical in today’s market. At the CMPS Institute, more than 125 mortgage professionals are taking certifying courses each month.

“A mortgage professional who dedicates the time and effort to learn about these financial concepts is much more qualified, committed and equipped to serve the complex needs of today’s home owner and buyer,” says Gibran Nicholas, chairman of the CMPS Institute.

Connecticut Home Mortgage is located at Two Corporate Drive in Shelton, Connecticut and can reached at (800) 459-1585 or by accessing www.cthm.com.
