Turton, who owns the largest women-owned business in New Jersey in terms of home sales, focused on the significant increase in sales of vacation and second homes, particularly along the Jersey Shore. She emphasized that it is a market segment that continues to show annual growth.
During the interview with Cavuto, the real estate expert also explained how home buyers and sellers can take advantage of opportunities in today’s housing market. “If you have good credit, you can get a low-interest mortgage,” she said. “Ten to twenty percent down is all you need. People still want to achieve the American Dream! If the price is right, sellers will make their money and buyers can get the home they want for their families.”
Turton, whose firm closed over $1 billion worth of home sales in 2006, was featured on the FOX News show in good company. The program, considered the number-one-rated signature business show on cable TV, recently featured such key guests as billionaire developer Donald Trump and Barbara Corcoran, founder of New York City’s Corcoran Group. Like both these entrepreneurs, Turton has been a pioneering force in real estate since she began Diane Turton on FOX News selling homes, while attending college in the late 1960s.
While Turton appeared on the show to offer some food for thought about the home sales market, many of her firm’s sales associates and managers gathered at Forte Restaurant in Point Pleasant to watch the live interview. Restaurant owner John Yucal said at least 100 people from the real estate company showed up.
