RISMEDIA, August 11, 2010—Global franchise real estate leader, RE/MAX, LLC, is hosting its annual Broker Owner Conference in Denver, CO, this week, August 8-10, with nearly a thousand attendees from 12 different countries. Featured presentations will be made by the industry’s top analysts. Former U.S. Navy captain, and best-selling author, Michael Abrashoff will deliver the keynote address, “It’s our Ship.”

The conference officially began Sunday, but RE/MAX Chairman and Co-Founder, Dave Liniger, kicked off the featured speaker presentations with an insightful look at the future housing market. Over the past two years, Liniger has been working to influence federal policymakers in Washington to shape the housing recovery by advocating short sale reform and other government stimulus acts, like the Home Buyer Tax Credit. This year, he was named one of BusinessWeek magazine’s 50 Most Powerful People in Real Estate 2010.

“The housing recovery will be gradual, with more ups and downs to come,” said Liniger during the opening general session. “It’s more important than ever to recognize that agents who pursue professional training will be the best equipped to assist families who are facing difficult decisions.”

Each year, the RE/MAX Broker Owner Conference attracts hundreds of the RE/MAX Network’s elite leaders from the U.S. and countries around the world. The conference offers extensive training and educational opportunities, a look at the latest technology and insights from industry experts.

In addition to conference activities, RE/MAX is celebrating a number of milestones this year:

-Three hundred and twenty-eight franchises have been sold so far in 2010, an 11% increase from the same period last year.

-RE/MAX expanded into five new countries this year including Bolivia and Tunisia who marked their new ownership with a flag-raising ceremony at RE/MAX headquarters in Denver. RE/MAX has a presence in more countries than any of its competitors.

-Despite a challenging economy, RE/MAX Europe and RE/MAX India have exponentially increased their presence this year; RE/MAX Europe has sold 102 new offices to date and agent growth for RE/MAX of India is up 617% from its startup last year.

-To the credit of its leaders, RE/MAX has announced partnerships with a number of companies that will help train and certify RE/MAX agents and facilitate short sales. New partners include Equator, ResNet, Real Property Management (RPM) and Real Estate Investors Association (REIA).

-RE/MAX launched a new mobile browser, which optimizes Remax.com, making it easier for consumers to search millions of properties from their mobile devices.

-Susan G. Komen for the Cure and RE/MAX launched the Home for the Cure program, through which RE/MAX agents can donate commissions earned from the sale of a home to Komen for the Cure.

-RE/MAX was named to the “2010 Top 100 Military Friendly Employer” list by G.I. Jobs magazine for the third consecutive year.

-Several national brokerage surveys ranked RE/MAX agents the most productive in the industry; the REAL Trends 500 Survey showed RE/MAX agents averaged an impressive 14.4 transaction sides in 2009, 46% higher than the next closest competitor.

The Conference concluded Tuesday afternoon with a panel featuring the real estate industry’s most influential analysts including John Featherston, founder of RISMedia and publisher of Real Estate magazine, Steve Murray, founder of REAL Trends and best-selling author and real estate industry visionary, Stefan Swanepoel.
