RISMEDIA, September 7, 2011–Bert Waugh, Jr., broker/owner and president of Prudential Northwest Properties is proud to announce that Jason Waugh, J.D., principal broker and chief operating officer of the company, has been named president of the region’s largest locally owned real estate services firm and Waugh, Jr. will assume the role of chairman of the board.

“As a business owner and father, I couldn’t be more proud,” says Bert Waugh, Jr. “Since he started with the company six years ago, Jason has consistently assumed greater operational responsibilities and earned the respect of community and industry leaders. His strength in leadership is evident and I am confident Prudential Northwest Properties will thrive under his direction.”

“I am honored to accept this responsibility and very excited about playing a role in leading this great team to new heights,” says Jason Waugh. “My Dad has always said to me, ‘Surround yourself with people that are more talented and better than you, and you will be successful.’  From our agents and staff to our leadership team, I am surrounded by that talent today, so I am in a very fortunate position.”

As Chairman of the Board, Bert Waugh, Jr. will remain active in the growth and development of his core companies: Prudential Northwest Properties, Columbia Mortgage and BrokerTec Systems; in addition to his ongoing endeavors in support of Transitional Youth, the non-profit organization he founded in 1991 to help local at-risk and homeless youth.

The Waugh family’s roots in the local real estate industry date back to 1981 when Bert Waugh, Jr. joined Stan Wiley Inc. REALTORS®. He became President in 1991 and Owner in 1994. In 1998, he acquired the Prudential Northwest Properties brokerage, which was founded in 1948, and merged the two into the company it is today.

Jason’s brother Bert Waugh III is CEO and President of Columbia Mortgage, a premiere mortgage firm in the greater Vancouver & Portland area that specializes in residential and commercial loans, maintaining a broad mix of traditional and innovative mortgage products, from first time buyer programs through jumbo loans.

Jason Waugh received his J.D. from Pepperdine School of Law, and is a former partner at Synergy Sports. He joined Prudential Northwest Properties in 2005 as a Business Development Specialist and looks forward to leading the company into the future. “The mission of Prudential Northwest Properties will remain constant: to continue developing better support and services for our agents so they can create great real estate experiences for their clients,” he says. “We will never waiver from that mission.”
