Better Homes and Gardens® Real Estate kicked off the second season of its national online and television reality series, Home, First Home® on May 1. The series, airing on The Better Show, features the story of first-time homebuyers Kehinde and Dozie Ekweribe,
Nigerian immigrants intent on fulfilling the American Dream of purchasing their first home. The ten-episode series chronicles the newlyweds’ pursuit of their perfect house and neighborhood, with insight from a “Dream Team” of lifestyle and design experts and the guidance of their real estate agent, Michelle Posey of the Houston-based brokerage Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate Gary Greene.
“Kehinde and Dozie were intent on finding a home that not only satisfied their lifestyle needs of today, but one they could look at as an investment for the future,” says Posey. “They are young professionals that were looking for a short commute, space to entertain, a great community and room for their family to grow. I think a lot of people will be able to relate to the Ekweribes as they take on a very exciting experience, and this series will help inform other first-time homebuyers about the home-buying process in a really entertaining way.”
With additional acumen from the Dream Team, the couple was able to envision themselves in three possible houses before calling one ”home.“ The Dream Team of lifestyle and design experts is made up of interior designer Jennifer Adams, award-winning lifestyle author Carolina Buia and outdoor design expert Carson Arthur. Throughout the series, each expert provides specialized insight and tips, keeping viewers abreast of the latest trends in design, entertaining and lifestyle, while helping the Ekweribes see how they could customize each home to fit their needs.
“Home, First Home was so well-received in its first season, that we were eager to produce a second with a dynamic set of Millennial homebuyers and the added design and lifestyle expertise from our Dream Team that brings to life the many considerations involved in finding the right home,” says Sherry Chris, president and CEO of Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate LLC. “Our ultimate goal is for viewers across the country to understand what to look for in an agent and a home, and to further educate them on one of the most important decisions of their lives – with an entertaining twist.”
