5 Ways to Upgrade Your Outdoor Space in the Fall

Just because the temperatures will dip doesn’t mean you need to move your al fresco evenings indoors quite yet. With the right equipment and accessories, spending cool fall nights outside offers the best of both worlds—beautiful evenings without the bugs and humidity. Implement some or all of the ideas below to turn your backyard into the ultimate backyard retreat this fall.

Light It Up
Outdoor lighting can elevate an outdoor space and create a warm, ambient glow. Thoughtfully selected lighting also provides an additional dimension to the backyard, long after the sun goes down.

Soft lighting throughout the backyard also brings a sense of comfort. Even if the pool is closed for the season, illuminating the area with fire bowls offers a level of luxury that will make you feel like you’re living at a resort.

Low-Maintenance Flames
To achieve the firepit ambiance without the smoky smell and maintenance, an outdoor fire table is an easy and fast way to ignite a fire when you’re entertaining. Fire table options accommodate many different styles, so finding a style that matches your exterior decor is entirely possible.

Outdoor Dining
With the ability to install a full-service kitchen outdoors, you can long extend your dining al fresco window even as the temperatures fall. Backyard kitchens can include dishwashers, warming drawers, kegerators, refrigerators and anything else you can imagine in an indoor kitchen.

If you’re a pizza aficionado, you can hone your pizza-making skills by installing a wood-burning pizza oven. Whether you’re making breakfast pizzas, hosting pizza parties for your children or experimenting with new pizza and champagne pairings with friends, an outdoor pizza oven may become your most used amenity.

Outdoor Entertainment
A luxury backyard isn’t complete until you install an outdoor television. When installing a TV in your backyard, the most important distinguishing factor is to ensure it’s an outdoor TV, not an indoor version, which could be damaged by sunlight, humidity, water, temperature or even bugs. Outdoor televisions reflect the lighting from the sun and thrive during extreme temperatures and inclement weather. You’ll also have the freedom to install it anywhere in the backyard, so you can enjoy your outdoor surroundings while watching the big game or hosting a movie night.

Staying Warm
To be completely comfortable as you decompress and take in your backyard beautiful scenery, staying warm tops the list. Luxury patio heaters can come on wheels to adjust the heat based on where you’re lounging and are often temperature controlled to ensure they’re dispersing the perfect level of warmth. Or you can choose ceiling heaters so you don’t take up valuable patio space.

To bring an extra level of coziness after the sun goes down, invest in a selection of cashmere blankets to bring out when it’s time to gather around the fire. Cashmere will lend a level of luxury that will help you and your guests feel like you’re on a vacation escape, hundreds of miles away.

With outdoor dining, entertainment, ambiance and comfort, you can reconnect with family and friends and forget the stress of the day.
