RISMEDIA, March 23, 2007-James M. Weichert, president of Weichert, RealtorsR, has announced that Stephen E. Adamo has joined the Weichert Family of Companies as president of Weichert Financial Services.

In this key position, Adamo assumes responsibility for the performance and growth of Weichert, Realtors' affiliated financial services companies as well as strategic oversight of Weichert GoldR Services, a one-stop-shopping program that streamlines the real estate process.

"Providing mortgage financing and other real estate-related services is core to the added value that the Weichert Family of Companies brings to home buyers and sellers," Weichert said. "Having someone with Steve's depth of experience and demonstrated abilities at the helm ensures that Weichert Financial Services will continue to exert leadership in customer-focused service and innovation."

Adamo brings to the position a distinguished 20-year record of progressive responsibilities within the banking and mortgage industry.

Serving in top management roles for Providence, R.I.-based Citizens Financial Group since 1995, more recently he led its CCO Mortgage Corp. as president and CEO since 2003. As president, he had responsibility for all aspects of residential mortgage banking and oversaw the company's mortgage origination throughout the bank's branch offices in 13 states and mortgage company branches in 21 states.

Prior to that, Adamo served as managing director of Citizens' New England Business Banking Group, a position for which he was honored as "Rhode Island Region SBA Financial Services Champion of the Year" and "New England Region SBA Financial Services Champion of the Year." He holds a bachelor's degree from Merrimack College in Andover, Mass.

Beyond his professional duties at Citizens, Adamo has served on the Fannie Mae Regional Advisory Council and the Fannie Mae National Advisory and has been active in various charitable causes, including the Board of Directors of the R.I. Chapter of ALS (Lou Gehrig's disease).
