Robert Bailey

Robert Bailey is a definitive industry statesman whose career has spanned more than five decades of dedicated service and leadership. Since co-founding Bailey Properties in 1974, Bailey has grown the regional independent into a multi-divisional powerhouse while simultaneously shaping real estate policy at every level. In 2025, his influence remained as vital as ever as he was elected to the MLSListings Board of Directors and Executive Committee. At the national level, he continues to guide the profession as a member of the National Association of Realtors®’ Multiple Listing Issues & Policies Committee and the MLS Technology & Emerging Issues Advisory Board, tackling critical modern challenges such as exclusive listings and data transparency.

As past president of the California Association of Realtors® (2002), Bailey serves on the association’s Strategic Planning and Finance Committee and chairs a taskforce investigating specialty licensing.

“My involvement is rooted in the belief that my career is a gift from those who preceded me,” says Bailey. “I have advocated tirelessly for the role of a Realtor® in protecting private property rights.”

Beyond the boardroom, Bailey hosts the “Let’s Talk Real Estate” educational series and remains active in the Aptos Sports Foundation. Today, he finds his greatest reward in mentoring his children as third-generation Realtors®.
