Check Out What These Brokers Did to Make Their Facebook Likes Jump

Facebook_likesIf you’re not running social media advertising or driving a specific social media campaign, your Facebook likes tend to stay flat.  And when your social network doesn’t grow, you’re likely a lot less enthusiastic about staying on top of your social media.

Unfortunately, creating engaging social media posts is difficult. But it’s not impossible. Check out these social media “winners” that caused likes to jump and the key reasons they worked:

Red Oak Realty

Red_Oak_Realty
What they did:
Red Oak Realty hosted a charity event to raise money for their Red Oak Opportunity Foundation. They created Facebook posts to raise awareness for the event, focusing on the Texas Hold ‘Em tournament and promoted how much fun the event would be. The above post saw over 100 engagements, which was significantly higher than their average 10-20 likes, shares and comments.

Why it worked:
People love to hear about fun things to do in their area and they love to assist charity organizations. This post shows fans of the page that Red Oak Realty is a giving member of the community.

If your brokerage is hosting any event, take pictures and share them on Facebook. Your fans want to see that you are part of the community. Even if you participate in an event isn’t being thrown by your brokerage, showing that you were present on social media is sure to attract engagement.

Hawaii Life Real Estate

What they did:
Realize that not all content has to be original! Hawaii Life Real Estate saw a great video of dolphins posted on Hawaii.com’s Facebook page, and they shared it on their own. This unique glimpse into Hawaiian life got nearly 100 engagements, much higher than their usual rate.

Why it worked:
Hawaii brings to mind beaches and the ocean. This post highlights an activity (swimming with wild dolphins) that is completely unique to this brokerage’s location. If you see content that you think your fans would love to see, be sure to share it!

The Boutique Real Estate Group

What they did:
The Boutique Real Estate Group created a listing video that pushed way outside of the box. Instead of a traditional slideshow of images, Boutique Real Estate created a listing video that parodied Wes Anderson films. This video saw three times the amount of engagements than their regular posts.

Why it worked:
Boutique’s video is funny and informative. It highlights all of the features of the home while also making the viewer laugh. By reverting to humor, Boutique reached a much larger audience than would usually be interested in viewing a traditional listing video, which would only appeal to people looking to buy a home. Departing from traditional methods of advertising homes can expand your reach and expose you to people who aren’t currently looking for a home, but may be in the future.

Go Realty

BH&G_Go
What they did:
Whenever Go Realty has a new addition to their company, they take a fun picture in front of their office sign and post it to Facebook. These posts do incredibly well, attracting engagement from not only Go Realty agents, but members of the entire Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate family.

Why it works:
Agents love their brand and they love when new members join the team. These posts act as a great way to introduce a new agent, as well as provide a space for existing members to welcome them. They also depict your brokerage as a fun and exciting place to work, which can potentially help to attract future talent.

All of these posts have one thing in common; they’re fun and lighthearted. Instead of offering fans of each page straight facts and figures, they allow brokerages to add a little personality and charm. By incorporating all, or even just one, of these content types into your Facebook posts, you’re sure to see a rise in engagement.
