In-House Realty Rebrands to Rocket Homes, Bringing End-to-End FinTech Into Focus

In-House Realty, a Rock Holdings subsidiary, has rebranded to “Rocket Homes,” according to an announcement on Monday. The change positions Rocket Homes alongside affiliate Quicken Loans—also owned by Rock Holdings—and, by extension, Rocket Mortgage, Quicken’s completely digital mortgage process. The company’s core offering is referrals, with over 25,000 agents around the country in its network.

In addition to the change—which includes the “rocket” symbol synonymous with Rocket Mortgage—Rocket Homes launched a new search site, with basic details about homes as well as information about the neighborhood, supply and more. The features are live to Michigan users, with 10 more states to be added by the end of the year, and a country-wide launch by mid-2019.

The announcements bring into focus a long-held mission to streamline transactions, connecting consumers to financing, homes and professionals seamlessly. In May, Rocket Homes acquired ForSaleByOwner.com—a bid that contributed to its end-to-end goal—and bought OpenHouse Realty’s technology in 2016.

“For more than a decade, we’ve worked tirelessly to build one of the country’s largest real estate referral networks,” said Doug Seabolt, CEO of Rocket Homes, in a statement. “Rebranding to Rocket Homes highlights our growth and evolution, as we are continuing to invest in a FinTech-driven future. Not only is Rocket Homes infusing technology into the home-buying and -selling process; we are also partnering with Rocket Mortgage to create a more seamless, streamlined experience for our clients.”

“We started with the simple idea of connecting consumers with the best real estate agents in the business,” said Sam Vida, founder/president of Rocket Homes. “As we grew and received feedback from our clients, we learned how complex and fragmented the real estate process was for them. So we made it our mission to create a simpler, seamless home-buying and -selling experience by combining online home search, getting a mortgage and working with a trusted real estate advisor. That’s what Rocket Homes is all about.”
